June 21, 2010 During this past year I had the pleasure of working with Dan and Don at Spectrum Construction on a major house renovation project. Having lived in my house for over thirty years, I decided it was time to do several maintenance projects as well as a curb-appeal makeover. After interviewing several contractors, I decide to go with Spectrum. It was an easy decision. Their professionalism and expertise were apparent from the very first meeting. While I had some general ideas about what needed to be done, Dan and Don made expert suggestions, drawn from experience, that I could never have imagined. The result is a house transformed. Previously, it had the look of a nondescript bungalow. Now, I believe my house is a showpiece, thanks to Spectrum. Throughout the process, Dan and Don dealt with the carpenters, roofers and electricians and set rigorous standards for the work. As a result, I was completely comfortable knowing that my money was being spent wisely. Now that my project has been completed, I have been confirmed in my initial decision to contract with Spectum. Their years of expertise are invaluable. We have all heard horror stories of construction projects gone awry; however my time over seven months with Spectrum could only be describe as "positive". I would recommend them to anyone. Kathleen Sleezer Sparta, NJ

November 1, 2009 As you know earlier this year our family decided to add an addition to our home to provide a suite in which our parents would live. At the same time, we decided to enlarge our family room and provide a playroom for our children. We originally approached Spectrum Construction after being impressed with an addition on a home on Eyland Avenue in Succasunna. Our instincts to choose Spectrum were correct as we are equally impressed with the addition that was added to our own home. Don and his team provided us with ideas that fulfilled out wish list. Spectrum provided an outstanding level of service from the initial planning through the completion of the project. They allowed us to become part of the design process as the plans were developed for our expanded living space and suite for our parents. Beginning with the groundbreaking, each phase of our project was completed on time, and every contractor that was here left the jobsite spotless and safe at the end of the day, taking special consideration for our two small children. As this project has come to a close, we have a new additional living space, a new garage and basement, as well as the private suite for our parents and our home looks as though it was built this way. We have received compliments from our neighbors that the house is beautiful and you can't tell that the addition isn't part of the original construction. It blends beautifully with the rest of our neighborhood. Project Manger Erick Olsen deserves special recognition as he was extremely approachable and accessible throughout out the entire process. Whenever a question needed to be answered or a concern had to be addressed, Erick was always there to help us feel at ease. Thank you for providing the service and professionalism that allowed for the least amount of disruption in our daily routine, and the quality of workmanship to show off and enjoy our new space. November 2008 My heartfelt thanks and appreciation go to Spectrum Construction for completely transforming my home. When I purchased the 1930's lakefront property on Lake Mohawk in Sparta, I wanted to create a retreat for myself and a place to entertain family and friends. My goal was to optimize the scenic aspect of the lakefront site, improve the design and flow of the living space, add modern amenities and utilize sustainable and energy efficient products, all this while preserving the rustic "lakestyle" cabin character of an original Lake Mohawk home. There were challenges with this project and plenty of particulars that needed attention in order to give my home its unique appeal. Don, Dan and the Spectrum team met all the challenges head on, using their experience and expertise to create viable solutions. I welcomed their insight and resourcefulness. Spectrum's Project Manager, Erick Olsen was a constant presence at the jobsite during construction. His dedication was apparent and he treated my home with the same care and attention to detail as he would his own. Today, I thoroughly enjoy the home I envisioned - from its unique craftsmanship to its modern conveniences and sustainable green products. It all came together beautifully creating my one-of-a-kind lakeside retreat. Without hesitation I would recommend Spectrum Construction to anyone considering a new custom home or addition/renovation project. Jo Ann Jany Sparta, New Jersey

November 2008 When I first wanted to build an addition on to my house, a neighbor at work said I should look into Spectrum Construction. I picked Spectrum for a number of reasons. The most surprising reason is because Don told me that I was not going to like the kitchen I was explaining to him. He said that I would not like a kitchen without windows, which is what I was thinking of doing. He was so right. I love my new kitchen with huge windows and doors on to my deck. Don helped me with the planning of my addition and all the preparation to get a variance through the zoning board in the township. He knew just what I could and could not do to get my addition approved without hassle. I lived in the house the entire time of construction. Since a new basement was being added, a concrete wall had to be cut for an opening into it. Dan made sure that as little concrete dust as possible got into the areas that I was living in. One day Dan called me at work to tell me that he had found a surprise for me in the basement. He wouldn't tell me what it was. He wanted to surprise me. I couldn't wait to get home to see what it was. It was a plastic bag of old silver dollars and coins that my great uncle had given me years ago as a child. I was thrilled and I know Dan was happy he had found them for me. I just love my new kitchen. Some nights I sit here and look around with all the lights on. The under cabinet lights were recommended by Don and I'm so glad I got them. Everyone at Spectrum was so helpful in making decisions that don't seem like a big deal, but do make a big difference in the end result. Don King at U.S Kitchens was a delight to work with. He must have drawn up at least four versions of my kitchen to get it just the way I wanted it. He even took into consideration my short height when making a baking counter for me. My kitchen is such unusual shape, and he was able to make it into a working kitchen. Erick was here every day. No matter what was going on, he was on top of it. He made everything run smoothly. He always kept me informed as to what was going on. Many times if he missed me in the morning, he would stop back when I got home to let me know about something. No matter how big or small my concern or question he always made me feel like I really mattered and he wanted me to be completely happy with my addition. My kitchen is now a dream kitchen. I think I could be in House Beautiful or one of those magazines. Having my laundry room brought upstairs from the basement was a great decision and the new bathroom makes life a lot easier. My new garage is a joy. I love not having to get out and scrape this time of year. This winter will be a treat not to clean off a snow covered car. Thanks to all of you at Spectrum. I love, love, love my addition. All my friends just can't get over what a beautiful kitchen I now have. Just walking in the front door with the expanded doorway to the kitchen -it just welcomes you in. Thank you all for your hard work and professionalism in making my dream home and especially for making me feel like each and every detail I wanted really mattered to each and every one of you. I will definitely recommend you to anyone I know that is considering construction. Kay Van Ness Succasunna

September 2008 You and your team recently completed extensive renovations to my residence at 5 Avon Terrace and I would like to extend my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the end result. It was a pleasant experience from start to finish. I thought the odds were against having so many efficient people in one company. I chose Spectrum Construction for the distinguished and quality homes built on Carriage Lane in Succasunna. When I met with you and Dan, I found that you were extremely knowledgeable, experienced, dedicated, and highly agreeable within reason. At that point, I knew Spectrum-Construction was the company to complete my renovation project and design my home with Character, Style & Attitude. And you did! The Spectrum team and all of it's contractors from planning stage to final cleaning, did an outstanding job. The work completed by everyone, under the supervision of Erick, was immaculate through out the entire process. Kathy's assistance in the selection process helped in alleviating stress and tension. My home was renovated with care and know-how. The final outcome was a complete transformation, as if my home always existed in its present state. Thank you all at Spectrum-Construction for a professional and positive renovation experience! Myrette Pickering Succasunna

When an architect and a builder have a strong relationship, it can make the process of creating a new home, or home addition, into a more cohesive and pleasurable experience for the owner. Through working on many projects over the past several years, we have developed this type of close relationship with Don Dyrness of Spectrum Construction. This allows me, as an architect, to recommend Spectrum Construction for your project. Don Dyrness, as well as his father Dan, have not only shown to me their understanding of the details of building structure, but also have shown a keen sense in the coordination of those details, in order to create an exciting finished project. It is not only the space that we live in that makes our lives enjoyable, but it is the aesthetic qualities and the details that improve our lifestyle and make houses into homes. I have worked with Spectrum Construction during the construction phase of projects and have personally witnessed the positive relationship he has with his clients at the conclusion of the project. I have had the opportunity, at the end of projects, to walk through with mutual client and hear praise, not only for Don's attentiveness throughout the project, but also for the reassurance that he is there to address any final details and idiosyncrasies that need to be completed. I wish you luck in your building project and encourage you to select Spectrum Construction, as not only your builder, but as your partner in creation of your new home. Kenneth J. Fox, AIA President Fox Architectural Design PC

May 2008 We knew when we bought our home 11 years ago that this is where we would always want to stay- a quiet street with an acre of property and a home large enough for our family and all our needs. We contemplated our options to purchase a vacation home, but with soaring prices it just didn't seem practical. So, we asked ourselves, why not make our home a "vacation retreat" that we can enjoy all year round? In shopping around for a builder and paying attention to the renovations and construction in our area, the one name we consistently saw in front of the work we liked was Spectrum Construction. In researching the company, we found it to be top notch and above board. This was very important to us when, at the time, we were reading about companies doing substandard work and walking away from jobs. We felt confident that this would not be the case with Spectrum. When we contacted Spectrum and sat down with Don and Dan, we found that father and son combined old world work ethic and know how with modern day planning and organization. They were attentive and polite and listened to all of our needs and wish list. Soon we were presented with plans for our dream house. We were amazed at their attention to detail and recommendations for our plans. Each aspect of construction was sequenced leaving nothing to doubt or chance. Upon contracting with Spectrum we received a binder with every construction detail explained. It could also be updated as changes were requested and work progressed. Any home project regardless of size is an inconvenience, but when your house is opened up, not only to a team if contractors but also to the elements, it can be harrowing. It wasn't long before walking out our bedroom door and running into one of the crew was like running into a member of the family. Everyone on the team was courteous and went out of their way to make the experience as easy on the nerves as they could. As work progressed and other phases of the project began, we actually missed seeing these people Dan and Don were always just a phone call away for whatever the problem. Once work started, the site foreman, Erick, was also a cell phone call away. Through the course of the project you wonder if this guy is ever home given the quickness of his responses.During a snow storm the crew responded in minutes to shore up tarps and secure the site. Any question or concern was addressed promptly by Dan, Don or Erick. . As the work progressed our 70's looking standard colonial home was transformed to have an updated fresh look. Neighbors would often stop to make compliments. Work remained on schedule and before we knew it, we had a home we just love to come home to. We feel fortunate to have worked with Spectrum on this project. It was a major undertaking and everyone was extremely supportive as we made countless decisions along the way. We are so proud of our "new" home and love to show it off. The master bedroom suite is a getaway suite. And who wouldn't love to spend part of the day in our new gourmet kitchen? Everyone has been impressed by the design of our addition as well as the workmanship. All in all, taking on this major addition and renovation is the best decision we have ever made and the next best decision was to use Spectrum Construction. Louise and Gerry Wyhopen Succasunna
October 2007 Well, the leaves are falling outside (finally) and our recent summer renovation seems so long ago. But in the warmth of our new beautiful home, we can can take time to reflect on the entire renovation process. It seems unimaginable that less than a year ago, we sat our kitchen table with Don and imagined the possibilities for our home. Our dated 1974 Shongum Lake colonial was begging for a makeover, and Spectrum was just the company to help us acheive our dreams. When we share our renovation success story with friends, family, and neighbors, everyone seems hard pressed to believe the ease with which it was accomplished. At every turn, Spectrum delivered as promised, from an on-time (even early completion) to a true to your word budget. Your staff and subcontractors were so courteous and respectful that our five person family remained in the home throughout the renovation. It seemed to move quickly and effortlessly. We want to personally thank each of you, and recognize Erick specifically. Erick came each and everyday to respond quickly to every little issue. He was kind and amazingly effective (and has a great sense of humor). I like to tell people that he even helped create a frame for my daughter's art project, which he showed up with one morning just to be nice. That is truly above and beyond! You should be so proud of how profesionally and kindly he handled our project. Your choice of subcontractors was also amazing. We especially loved working with Don King from US Kitchens. He was deliberate, detailed, and creative. You can tell that he shares your work ethic and concern for customer satisfaction. Our house is beautiful, the renovation was painless, and Spectrum was great. You can be assured we are saving our pennies, already looking forward to the next project. Thank you so much for the care you showed to us and our children (and our new puppy). Rich and Melissa Weiner Randolph September 2007 "Is this new construction?" That was the question we heard from visitors upon seeing our modest 1950's split-level renovation. Of course, we were proud to claim that we had an addition put on, and had completely remodeled the outside of the house. As you know, we were in desperate need of more space with two small kids and one on the way. With only one full bathroom, I had nightmares of three teenagers and two adults trying to get out of the house in the morning! Our objectives were very specific and many thanks to the Specturm team for delivering exactly what we wanted. From the start we were impressed with your professionalism and the outline provided managing our project. Along the way, we were grateful for promptly addressing any concerns and we were always confidents in the the quality of work being done. The little extras that you came up with were unexpected and appreciated, while the overall look of our home was transformed in a matter of months. It was truly exciting to see the entire process and how much effort goes into planning and construction. We utilize every inch of new space and especially love the contemporary look of the house, including the new fireplace and front porch. The kids are still showing off their "new" house to everyoone who comes to the door. Thank you for making our vision a reality. Our home is just as comfortable and as beautiful as we imagined. Kristen and John Brinkman Succasunna
October 2006 Now that we have unpacked most of our boxes and have had a few days to enjoy our newly renovated home, we wanted you to know how very pleased we are with the great work Spectrum did to make our home renovation such as success. We truly appreciate the effort that everyone on the Spectrum team put forth to make our project exceed our highest expectations. The innovative solutions that each of you proposed to resolve unexpected findings associated with the demolition process were both cost saving and architecturally elegant. Don's insightfulness and attention to detail and scheduling were most impressive. And, Dan's experience and skilled craftsmanship added immensely to the success of the renovation. The constant support we received from Kathy Ritchey in your office was especially helpful since we were out of state and unavailable on a day-to-day basis during most of the construction phase. We particularly want to single out the extraordinary work of Erick Olsen, Spectrum's on-site supervisor for our job. Erick not only kept things on target but always went the extra mile. His dedication, work ethic, and imaginative contributions to the project, coupled with his unique interpersonal skills, greatly enhanced the entire process. He and his team could not have been better. And while it was certainly our pleasure to have worked with you throughout the building process, the follow-up and continuing personal interest we have experienced from the entire Spectrum team in assuring our total satisfaction with our newly renovated home has been beyond anything we could have imagined. If ever a potential client would like to speak with a very satisfied customer about the outstanding quality of Spectrum's work, we would be pleased to do so. Again, thank you and everyone at Spectrum for a great experience and for a wonderful new home. George E. Hardy, Jr., M.D. Green Pond
September 2007 Our family home on Altantis Drive in Succasunna was completed in September of 2005. We needed a bigger house and we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted. Spectrum brought our ideas to life. They designed exactly what we wanted, led us through the building process and we have become good friends since. They were and are always there when we need them. They were as concerned with the project and the details as we were. We really felt like we became part of the Spectrum team. Our house is finished with beautiful details and it has a very solid, quality feeling. We know that we made the right decision to build with Spectrum. David and Stacy Spicka Succasunna
January 2005 Now that the holidays are a thing of the past, and we have weathered our first snow storm in the new house, Ed and I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for making our dreams a reality. We can't begin to express our gratitude for your patience, guidance, advice and expertise. The house is everything we wanted and more. I finally have the kitchen I always wanted (Christmas dinner for 16 was a breeze), and Ed has his basement. As I mentioned to you previously there will be no "construction horror stories" from these satisfied customers. From the first meeting to discuss possibilities, to the neat appearance of the job site at the end of each work day, to the flowers waiting for us on closing day, you all were a class act. Don, thank you for walking us through everything, step by step and for being on the other end of the phone whenever there was a question or a change and keeping us on task and within our self imposed timeline. We can't begin to tell you how relieved we were to see how organized you had everything. The 3 ring binder of information was and continues to be of great use. We could tell you have done this before. Dan, thank you for your numerous suggestions that were always on target and knowing what we wanted, most often before we did. It's the experience that you have that made the difference and gave us confidence in what you all were doing. Erick, thank you for putting up with the myriad questions,
calls and drive-bys. We can't thank you enough for always being available,
many days much longer than you should have been, and even after the
closing. We know you'll be there with an answer, next week or next
year for that matter, if we have a question. Ed and Louise Hade Succasunna
July 2004 Dear Don and Dan: George and I would like to take this opportunity to commend the Spectrum Construction team for their professionalism and craftsmanship in converting and renovating our 1958 ranch to a center hall colonial home. Spectrum Construction was the first builder that we had considered for this extensive project. One of the concerns we had included the fact that we would be living in the basement of our home during the estimated five month project with our two children, ages 8 and 11. Other issues raised were dealing with the project during the winter season. We also expected a professional project that was completed to the last detail. We were tough customers, but, Spectrum was determined to impress and exceeded our expectations on all counts, The Spectrum team was professional and considerate of our privacy and personal needs throughout this long winter. We usually knew when contractors were arriving and what the expected game plan was each week. When our furnace was disconnected, we were supplied with space heaters and the furnace was quickly converted to become operational. When there were unexpected problems or delays we were consulted and advised immediately. What we appreciated the most was how readily both Don and Dan deviated, without solicitation, from the project's original plan in order to offer their aesthetic expertise. Every suggestion offered proved to have been an important and beautifying change that emulated Spectrum's style and pride in their work. We were also impressed that practically every sub- contractor was an experience craftsman, working under the exclusive direction of the Spectrum team. Our original 1958 red oak floors were matched and restored to their original beauty. What we also noticed was how each of the craftsmen had a sense of comradery with the Spectrum team. Moreover, as with any construction project, if any problems did arrive, Spectrum troubleshooted and ensured that the issue was resolved to our satisfaction. Additionally, despite weather setbacks this past winter, the project was essentially completed on schedule. The final work product speaks for itself. We can't tell you the compliments and recognition that we have received throughout our town from complete strangers. We are now enjoying our new home with our family and have no reservation in recommending Spectrum Construction as your "Builder of Fine Homes". Many thanks to the Spectrum team for making our dream a reality. Diana & George Rosa Ledgewood January 2004 Dear Spectrum Team, When I first decided to rebuild my house I must admit
I had much trepidation due to all the horror stories I had heard about
contractors. You proved my fears to be baseless. Everyone told me
to shop around, but yours was the only company to respond immediately.
From the very first meeting my instincts told me you could be trusted. Landing January 2004 John and I just wanted to thank you for the excellent work you and you did for us. The expansion/renovation to out home is exactly what we had been dreaming of for many years. Form the frist time we learned about your company surfing the internet and meeting oyu in person, we knew we had the right people for the job. All of your employees were very accommodating and helpful. If we had a concern or change that was needed, it was promptly addressed to our satisfaction. We would like to thank everyone who worked on our home. It could have and overwhelming experience, but with your excellent guidance and organization throughout the project, it turned out to be a wonderful fulfilling experience. We have and will continue to recommend Spectrum Construction. Please do not hesitate to use us as a reference for future clients. We are very pleased and love our new home. Connie and John Paczkowski Long Valley
